The Index Climbers Festival is BACK ON!

October 15-16, 2022

Thank all of you for your patience and understanding while we worked to reschedule. As soon as the situation was appropriate, we scrambled to find a date and venue that could make the best of it - and we think we nailed it.  The community celebration of Index climbing and stewardship will take place rain or shine October 15-16, thanks to the flexibility and generosity of the Outdoor Adventure Center (River House).

And even better - we're throwing a COSTUME PARTY to make sure that even if it rains, we're making the best of it this year.

Tickets are back on sale and all original sales will be honored.  T-shirt sales will resume, so you can still get the great shirts and pick them up in October.

This year the Climbers Festival is proud to announce that we are forming a local climbing organization ("LCO" if you're in the biz) in Index to help ensure that Washington's finest crag stays that way.   All proceeds from the event will go to support future Index Climbers Festivals and to fund climbing stewardship in Index through the Index Climbers Collective.

We will have some big news soon about how to get involved with the Index Climbers Collective. For now you can support this organization by participating in (and volunteering for) the Climbers Festival.  Stay tuned for more details!

The best way to stay up to date with announcements is to join the Facebook Event or follow us on Instagram.

A few things are changing this year from the last festival....

Index is growing in popularity at rapid speed, and we've seen changes in our favorite crags that range from multiple new crags opening up this year to increased traffic and parking. All this means we are getting organized and taking some steps to ensure that this is the best festival and fundraiser we can muster in order to meet the demand ahead.

What's different this year:

  • Expanded our exciting sponsors to the great partners including raffle and climbing comp prizes donated by:  Adidas/ FiveTen, Arcteryx Seattle and more (Full sponsor list here)

  • We will be having the community BBQ in Doolittle park (the only park in Index) instead of the River House. If you've ever been to the Index Arts Festival, you know how cool this can be!

  • All day-of registrations for the climbing competition or community BBQ will be cash-only. So get your ticket early!

  • New "Alpine Start" ticket registrations from August 15-Sept 1 for those looking for a deal. (See our ticket page for full details. )

  • Bring your bike! We are encouraging biking or walking from Sportsman's Beach (Wagon Wheel) to Doolittle Park. Please do not plan to park in town. If you must drive to Doolittle, please park at the Heybrook Trailhead, but not overnight.

What's the same :

  • Loads of great, affordable clinics from Mountain Bureau at Index Climbers Fest-only prices! Check out this year's clinics.

  • Community BBQ on Saturday will be the biggest climbers party in Sky Valley. Don't miss it.

  • Musical headliner (and Index Local band) Mother Blue is BACK!

  • Local climbing organizations will be at the BBQ to meet you!

  • Artists from across the Sky Valley and east side are coming back to showcase their work.
